Rating & ranks

Your rating is an ELO number that moves after every revealed challenge. Beat people, it goes up; lose or forfeit, it goes down. It decides your rank and which cup room you compete in.

How the number moves

  • Everyone starts at 1000.
  • At the reveal, your placement is compared against every opponent in the lobby, pair by pair.
  • Beating a higher-rated player pays more than beating a lower-rated one; losing to a lower-rated player costs more. The math is zero-sum - points you gain come from your opponents.
  • Bigger lobbies spread the exchange across more opponents, so one match never swings your rating wildly.

Your reveal-board chip (+16, -9) is exactly this exchange, and your profile keeps the full history.

Forfeits lose rating

Entering a lobby is a commitment. If you join and forfeit - nothing valid to judge by the deadline - you place below everyone who shipped and your rating drops accordingly. In squad, a member with zero authored commits takes the same forfeit loss even if their team shipped - see how duos work.

Rank colors your name across the platform and sets which challenges you can enter (your rank and below) and which cup room you stand in.

Rating only ever moves through revealed challenges. There is no decay, no purchase, and no admin adjustment - the ladder is play only.
